Psalms of the Messiah (Continued) - Psalms 45, 47, 48, 87, 110

Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise,
in the city of our God, his holy mountain.
It is beautiful in its loftiness,
the joy of the whole earth.

I love walking in the mountains.  For me the mountains are an earthly explanation point.  They stand above the everyday, the mundane and the manmade.  They offer us an incredible view of the sunrise and take us (or me, at least) closer to God.  It's no great surprise that God lives on a mountaintop.  That Moses met with Him on a mountaintop.  That the transfiguration took place on a mountaintop.

Lord knows.  How could a psalm about the Messiah not mention a mountaintop?
