Beyond them, Benjamin and Hasshub made repairs in front of their house; and next to them, Azariah son of Maaseiah, the son of Ananiah, made repairs beside his house..... Above the Horse Gate, the priests made repairs, each in front of his own house. Next to them, Zadok son of Immer made repairs opposite his house.... Nehemiah 3:23, 28-29
The people are rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem. The City of God is being restored by each man focusing on the wall around his own home. I hope the wall I have constructed for my family serves them well. I'd like to think I provided them with powerful protection from the enemy. But, the truth is, it's not the wall I've built. It's the wall the Lord raises around us.
In my sin, still I ask for your blessing on my children and I am confidant our loving, forgiving, gracious God can and will do this.
