They and their descendants were in charge of guarding the gates of the house of the LORD -- the house called the Tent. 1 Chronicles 9:23

I like that the house of God is called the Tent for reasons I know I've stated here, again and again. Life living in a tent puts you so in touch with the world around you. You're so much more aware of the weather, of storms and rain and wind and animals sniffing at the door. You're much more likely to pray to God in the middle of a storm when the tent is tossed in the wind. A tent doesn't separate and insulate you from nature and life like living in a more permanent structure does. The temporary nature of a tent also suggest that ones real home is somewhere else. And it is...even though we let our houses, a source for so much pride for so many, fool us.

Lord knows.
