Somewhere along the line David figures out the Ark needs to be moved by Levites. And so he has it moved. God is content to have His presence to reside in a tent. What do the people think about this? Are they happy to have the Creator of the Universe pitch a tent in Jerusalem?
Also in today's reading, trees get a scriptural shout out:
Then the trees of the forest will sing, they will sing for joy before the Lord, for He comes to judge the earth.
I like this because I don't see how something as majestic as a tree doesn't have a means of "singing for joy before the Lord." Is this humanization of trees just religious hyperbole or a sliver of the truth? Some wonder if their pets will be in heaven. I wonder if there will be trees.
Lord knows.
